Guest Speaker: Prof. Dr. Manuela de Allegri (view profile in Research Directory)
Topic: Embracing Emergence in Mixed Methods Designs: The Case of the Impact Evaluation of the RBF4MNH Initiative in Malawi

The Series directs special attention towards the added value of interdisciplinary and international cooperation in global health research. Every first Tuesday of the month, speakers share insights of their research projects while focusing on research processes, methods as well as lessons learned. Following the 30 minute speaker’s presentation, the Series encourages an academic exchange between the speaker and the audience in a 30 minute Q&A session.

Steering Committee member Manuela de Allegri speaks about the evaluation of Results-Based Financing For Maternal and Neonatal Health (RBF4MNH) Initiative piloted by the Ministry of Health in Malawi. She focuses on the emergent mixed-methods design of the research project, meaning that the researchers made decisions as things changed on the field and new realities emerged.
