Simulation Game on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)
The Global Health Academy invites you to participate in a Simulation Game to reflect on academic blind spots and current academic debates. Within a given scenario, we simulate a cross-sector, multi-stakeholder dialogue and inspire holistic and systemic thinking on the global health challenges of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
- The scenario will take place in a fictitious country modelled after a sub-Saharan African biome and society. This will allow participants to adequately “zoom-out” from reality and focus on unifying, systemic NTD dynamics.
- The simulation game will focus on common factors, issues, strategies and synergies, rather than an in-depth discussion on a certain NTD.
- A variety of actors with different backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on local stakeholders, will be present and played by the participants.
For more information on the Simulation Game check out the Fact Sheet.
Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop
To make the Simulation Game available to a broad range of researchers, we are offering a training for GLOHRA members to learn how to conduct the Simulation Game at their own research institutes. Interested members can apply for a one-day training on how to moderate the event for participants with diverse backgrounds. The online training will be for both - an online or on-site Simulation Game. Priority will be given to participants who participated in the Simulation Game in November 2021 and November 2024.
No specific background on NTDs is required for the Simulation Game or ToT Workshop! You will receive information on the scenario and your role in the simulation game one day prior to the event.
Please apply for the Simulation Game and/or ToT Workshop as early as possible, but no later than 6 November 2024 via the online form. We will select participants to ensure a balance of all GLOHRA research areas and expertise. Early applications and applications by early career researchers will be prioritized.
