GLOHRA Academy Series

Global Health Research - GLOHRA Academy Series

Guest Speaker: Prof. Dr. Uli Beisel

Topic: Mosquito Mobilities - a social science view on mosquito control, elimination and invasiveness

The Series directs special attention towards the added value of interdisciplinary and international cooperation in global health research. Every first Tuesday of the month, speakers share insights of their research projects while focusing on research processes, methods as well as lessons learned. Following the 30 minute speaker’s presentation, the Series encourages an academic exchange between the speaker and the audience in a 30 minute Q&A session.

Prof. Dr. Uli Beisel will present her research on mosquito mobilities and shed light on mosquito control, elimination and invasiveness with the eyes of an anthropologist. With the perspective of a social scientist, she will introduce her interdisciplinary research on malaria control programs on mosquito-parasite-human entanglements.
