Report on Enabling International Cooperation for Global Health Research

GLOHRA 2023-2025 Strategy

Vision and measures for GLOHRA's further international engagement

The German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) is pleased to announce the release of the report on “Enabling International Collaboration for Global Health Research”. This joint report was conducted by GLOHRA and Value for Good GmbH. It defines GLOHRA’s strategy for international collaboration in 2023-2025.

International collaboration is critical for effective global health research and in the years to come this report will help guide GLOHRA to foster and expand on equitable international partnerships. The report is based on extensive research as well as expert interviews with researchers in and outside of Germany, policy makers and practitioners.

To enable GLOHRA to play a vital role in global health, the report identifies four strategic pillars: research community, collaboration, funding, and policy impact. Each of these pillars includes targeted measures which will drive the strategy forward in line with the stated vision of “a world in which international partnerships in global health are commonplace and collaboration is equitable.”

This report was presented in June as part of a Steering Committee meeting to representatives from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation Development and others.
